ROWAN'S MONGELLUZZO & McALLISTER CHOSEN TO ATTEND NCAA STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT COACHES FORUM

INDIANAPOLIS--Rowan University swimmers Kyle Mongelluzzo and Steph McAllister have been selected to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Development Coaches Forum at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL on May 28-29.
The NCAA student-athlete development staff within educational affairs in partnership with the championships group, will conduct the forum which is in its first year. The objective is to provide a three-phase coaching development opportunity to students interested in becoming coaches in the sports of bowling, soccer, swimming and diving or wrestling after graduating from college. The focus of the workshop is to educate attendees on the unique aspects of running a collegiate athletic sports program.
Both Mongelluzzo and McAllister have been on the University’s swim teams for three years. Mongelluzzo competes in the backstroke and the freestyle. A health and exercise major, he is co-chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
McAllister swims the backstroke and butterfly. She is a health promotion and fitness management major and a Rowan Scholar-Athlete.
A total of 41 student-athletes were chosen to attend the student-athlete development coaches forum. Eligible participants must be graduating from a NCAA member institution in the 2009-10 academic year, be in good academic standing and have an interest to coach in the sport of bowling, soccer, swimming and diving or wrestling.
