WILLIAM PATERSON'S CARROLL DRAFTED BY THE MINNESOTA TWINS

WAYNE--William Paterson University left-handed pitcher Brett Carroll was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 42nd round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft conducted on June 9. Carroll was one of 19 NCAA Division III players selected in the 2010 MLB Draft, but the only one from a New Jersey Athletic Conference program.


Carroll paced the 2010 William Paterson pitching staff with a 4-3 record and a 3.04 earned-run average.The honorable-mention all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and second-team New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/
III all-state selection started in nine of 10 appearances, pitched two complete games, registered a save, and struck out 76 and walked 27 in 68.0 innings pitched.  He was second in strikeouts, fifth in ERA, eighth in opponent batting average (.244) and ninth in innings pitched in the NJAC statistics, and he placed third on the WP single-season strikeouts list.
