MAHWAH--The Ramapo baseball team has adopted a child through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, taking on the responsibility of giving support and friendship to a young child battling a pediatric brain tumor. On January 31, the Roadrunners officially adopted Evan Hurwitz, an eight-year old boy from Oakland, NJ, as the newest member of the Roadrunner team.

CHERRY HILL– Rowan women’s soccer player Jess Babice was honored at the 106th Philadelphia Sports Writers Association Dinner on February 1 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill. Babice was honored along with a number of standouts in both professional and amateur sports including Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek and Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel.

GLASSBORO–The Rowan softball team began its season by participating in a day of community participation and volunteerism through Habitat for Humanity. The team was able to assist Habitat for Humanity in its tireless efforts and dedication to build houses for those in need.

EDISON—Former TCNJ women’s basketball player Hillary Klimowicz was honored at the New Jersey Sports Writers Association 74th Anniversary Banquet held on January 31. Klimowicz, who received the organization’s College Women’s Basketball Player of the Year Award, was among a star-studded field of honorees which included New Jersey Devils President and General Manger Lou Lamoriello, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, Detroit Tiger pitcher Rick Porcello, and former Seton Hall and NBA standout Terry Dehere.
