WILLIAM PATERSON'S GURKA CAPTURES HIS 300TH CAREER WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING VICTORY

MADISON--William Paterson head coach Ed Gurka earned his 300th women’s swimming and diving victory on December 5 when the Pioneers defeated host FDU-Florham, 105-76.
Gurka, in his 34th season coaching at William Paterson, now owns a women’s career record of 300-143-3. He also is 279-146 as the men’s coach for a combined record of 579-289-3. In addition, he has coached 16 All-Americans during his tenure at WPU.
A three-time all-state swimmer at Wayne Valley High School, Gurka earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education while competing in the butterfly and individual medley at the University of Maryland.
