MORRISVILLE CLAIMS AT LEAST A SHARE OF THE NJAC FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP; AUTOMATIC BID STILL NOT YET DETERMINED

PITMAN—With a 38-20 NJAC road win at Montclair State on November 8, Morrisville State College has clinched at least a share of the 2014 NJAC Football Championship. But with one week of conference play remaining, the league’s NCAA automatic qualifier is still not yet determined.

With a final 6-1 record in conference play, Morrisville State is assured of at least a share of the NJAC championship. Losses by Rowan on November 14 at TCNJ and Montclair State on November 15 at Kean would give the Mustangs the conference title outright along with the league’s NCAA automatic bid.

If Rowan loses and Montclair State wins, Morrisville State and Montclair State would be declared NJAC co-champions and Morrisville State would claim the automatic bid by virtue of its head-to-head victory over the Red Hawks on November 8.

If Montclair State loses and Rowan wins, Rowan and Morrisville State would be declared NJAC co-champions and Rowan would claim the automatic bid by virtue of its head-to-head victory over the Mustangs on October 18.

If both Rowan and Montclair State win, Rowan, Morrisville State, and Montclair State would all three be declared NJAC tri-champions. In this scenario, Rowan would claim the automatic bid by virtue of the conference tiebreaker of first half scoring differential among the three tied teams (Rowan +24; Morrisville State -4; Montclair State -20).
